Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has allayed fears that he has been admitted in ICU in critical condition following widespread reports.

Rumours flooded social media on the afternoon of Thursday, June 25, that the former Rarieda Member of Parliament had been admitted at a Karen Hospital.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Tuju put the rumours to rest confirming that he was in good health and was at work.

"I am doing very well. The other time they had 'killed' me, now if I am in ICU that is a big improvement, from death to ICU I cannot be doing that bad.

"You saw me on a public function on Monday, I was the master of ceremony. Those are just rumours, rumours keep the country going round, I'm at work currently," stated Tuju.

According to the false reports, Tuju fell sick at night and taken to hospital over fears that some procedures carried out in London on him could be developing complications.

The rumours were preceded by a photo that was circulated widely on social media on Monday, June 25, during the Jubilee Party PG meeting at KICC that showed a pillow placed on Tuju's seat.

The photo attracted some attention on the interwebs as a number of Kenyans expressed their concerns about his wellbeing.

Tuju suffered serious injuries after a grizzly road accident on his way to the late former President Daniel Moi’s funeral in Kabarak on Wednesday, February 12.

The former Minister of Information and Communications was in the company of his driver and bodyguard when the Prado he was travelling in collided head-on with a 14-seater matatu.

He was later flown to the United Kingdom for specialized treatment and jetted back to the country on Saturday, March 7.

He would soon after resume his duties as Jubilee Party Secretary General, key among the tasks he has undertaken since, being a purge on members perceived to be disloyal to party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
