Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Abigael Kipkorir, Michelle's cousin who is in charge of sales and distribution, revealed that the young author had started working on the project while in Standard Eight.

"She embarked on the project when she was about to do her final exams in 2019 but when the pandemic struck she used the time to focus on the book and finally managed to finish it.

"We have managed to sell more than 2,000 copies since the book was launched back in June," she explained.

The story revolves around a young girl named Cassandra, who transfers to a new school but faces challenges with friends and siblings who include three sisters and a brother.

Michelle has been a bright student as she managed to post exceptional results, registering 423 marks in her KCPE exams while at Potter House Academy.

She aspires to be an award-winning author and has certainly planted the right seed to the right path in making her dream come true.

Her family that resides in Eldoret s overwhelmed by Michelle's achievement with her story attracting significant media attention.

A shy Michelle says she ventured into writing as she found it easier to express herself by writing down stories rather than speak.

Deliveries of the book can be made within the country, with most of her sales coming from phonecall orders.

The 13-year-old has already embarked on her second book and hopes to be complete it before school resumes next year.
