KICC was named Africa's leading meetings and conference centre, with Kenya Tourism Board winning the best tourism board in Africa.
In the hospitality sector, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club’s unique comforts in the shadow of Mount Kenya helped it win the title of Africa’s Leading Hotel.

In August 2020, Kenya became the first country in the world to be awarded the recommended status of the Safer Tourism Resilience Seal by the global body, Rebuilding Travels.
The country was also among the top destinations in Africa to receive the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) recognition in July.
The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.
The ceremony is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence.
Participants are usually nominated and winners are selected after online voting which is open for about a year long.
A standard vote carries a weighting of one, while votes cast by verified travel professionals carry a weighting of two. Votes are internally audited to ensure the validity of each individual vote.
