Deputy President William Ruto is expected to make a major address later today following a meeting with his allies at his Karen home on Wednesday, November 2.

In the meeting, the DP and his allies are expected to find a common ground on whether to be in support of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report or against it.

"Legislators and several governors already seated at DP's Karen residence as meeting starts," reads a statement by Dennis Itumbi, a communication strategist and key ally of Ruto.

Some of the governors who attended the meeting included; Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), Stephen Sang (Nandi), and Moses Lenolkulal (Samburu).

On the other hand, the MP's who attended the meeting included; Caleb Kositany (Soy), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Mohammed Ali (Nyali) and Aisha Jumwa (Malindi).

Earlier reports had indicated that the DP hired experts who would break down the report during the meeting.

The meeting was convened after the realisation that the DP's allies were not reading from the same page as some have continued to criticised while others appear to be warming up to its proposals.

Ruto has maintained that it is possible for the referendum to be passed unopposed.

"I’ve a constitutional duty to assist my boss, the President. We’ve made an improvement to BBI post-Bomas.

"Now working on consensus for Kenyans to have real choices to decide/vote while avoiding yes/no, all/nothing division. We avoided lose-lose we can overcome win-lose to achieve win-win," he noted.

The DP had previously opposed the constitutional reforms stating that the report should focus on all Kenyans instead of a few political leaders.
