Meet Little Girls Starring in Citizen TV's New Show Zora

The young actors first came to the limelight in March 2021, when a promo of the new Zora show first aired on Citizen TV.

Their beautiful rendition of American singer Adele's Hello, stood out in the promo, pulling many Kenyans to want to watch the show when it finally aired.

Nyambiya Syekei (8) and Angel Achieng (9) are minor characters who play the roles of two sisters, Lila and Fila respectively. The girls have just recently lost their mother to an accident and are currently staying with their uncle.

Already, their acting skills have been commended by their producer as well as other actors in the show.

"Your performance was out of this world. Meet our next superstars," Lulu Hassan, a producer in the show commended.

"I'm blown away at work everyday by how talented these kids are, wait and see what they do in the next few weeks, they are still in primary school and already twice the actor I am. Sending love and light your way," Blessing Lungaho, an actor stated.

Other than acting, Syekei is a singer, gymnast and a dancer. She is an alumnus of the Red Forth Kids choir and has made numerous covers including; Colours of the Wind and Someone you loved.

"She is a determined little girl and I am certain that with her developing alto, the world will love her music," Philip Tuju, the Redforth founder and one of Kenya's top voice coach stated.

Similarly, Achieng is an actress, singer, gymnast and dancer. Six months ago, she released a Christian worship song called Holyspirit.

Zora is a new program that kicked off on March 22, 2021. It stirs two known actresses, Sarah Hassan and Jackie Matubia, who previously acted on Tahidi High as Tanya and Jolene. 

The show replaced Maria, which had aired on the station for two years. Zora and Maria have both been produced by the same Film production, Jiffy Pictures, owned by media personalities Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla.

Some of the characters who played in Maria series like Blessing Lung’aho, Quincy Rapando and Bridget Shighadi popularly known in the Maria drama series as Mejja, Thomas and Sofia respectively also have roles on Zora.

A section of Kenyans have already started falling in love with the show as the plot is expected to thicken as time goes by.
