Ruto's UDA Appoints Journalist as Head of Communication

The United Democratic Alliance party has appointed Wanjohi Githae as the party’s Director of Communications as it solidifies its strategy ahead of the 2022 general election.

The party, which is linked to Deputy President William Ruto, announced that the political reporter will head its strategizing ahead.

The party has appointed Wanjohi Githae as the party’s Director of Communications on Friday,29.

Wanjohi Githae, a renowned journalist and editor, worked at Nation Media group. The political reporter describes himself as a “keen observer of tides in affairs of men”.  

Previously, he worked at Media Max as a reporter. In 2015, he was fired alongside other journalists as the media house underwent a restructuring process. 

UDA's Secretary-General Veronica Maina in a notice added that Githae will be in charge of the party’s print, broadcast and online communication.

“Mr. Githae brings a wealth of experience in communication and media relations…His wide networks in the media will assist in nurturing a good relationship with the newsrooms

Barely a week ago, Ruto held talks with Former CBK Governor Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u who served for eight years at CBK.

He will be influential in crafting the economic strategy for the party.  The deputy president vouched for his credibility saying that the professor worked for UON, IDRC and KIPPRA.

In a bid to rebuild the economy, Ruto revealed his master plan which is to build the economy from the bottom up.

The Deputy President held a meeting with Khaligraph Jones and other artists at his Karen residence. In that brainstorming session, they discussed measures that can be put in place to support the artists.

They made recommendations which Ruto offered to forward to the National Emergency Response Committee on how to navigate the entertainment scene during this tough time.
