Capital FM mocked the Kenya Broadcasting Cooporation (KBC) on Thursday, July 1, after it used the latter's new logo in its campaign for the International reggae day.

The satirical use of the logo came at a time when the national broadcaster had been trolled after re-launching with the new symbol.

A section of Kenyans had termed it as uncreative and trolled KBC for allegedly not being unique.

Hopping onto this wave, Capital FM used a similar logo in its campaign, prompting netizens to react and ask KBC to follow back with a statement.

"Respect your elders," a netizen joked.

"KBC is only on Facebook. We will have to wait for two weeks before they can see it," Ndegwa weighed in.

"KBC's comeback will take two weeks. They couldn't hire a good designer, what makes you think they have a Social Media manager?" Lucy Luciano posed.

Moments later, however, KBC followed through with a comeback. Their graphic designer made an inscription of Capital FM on their logo and a builder, who was wearing a KBC helmet, shuttered its glass.

The station followed through with a caption written; "A new experience every day on KBC. Stay Tuned."

"This comeback tweet is on point. Capital FM Kenya please respond gently," a netizen stated.

"KBC has lived to the 'usimuone simba amenyeshewa ukadhania ni paka' saying. Their response is akin to Nyerere's when Amin tried to invade Tanzania," another wrote.

The teasing by the two media houses is a technic that digital strategists use from time to time to provoke their competitors.

Digital Strategist Brian Muuo told Kenyans.co.ke that companies use the technique to create light moments and entertain their audience.
