"The PSC as a responsible commission wishes to remind all concerned public officers to submit their biennial (every two years) financial declaration of themselves, spouses, and dependent children before December 31.

"The public officers are required to fill the declaration form and submit it to the authorised officers. The authorised officers will then submit the declaration returns to the commission," read the notice.

In the notice, the commission went ahead to state that they had adequately prepared for the exercise adding that the public officers would be guided by their respective Human Resource officers.

"The commission invited and trained the heads of Human Resource Management from all public institutions from August 23 to August 26.

"Additionally, public officers have been warned against making false declarations, with the commission stating that it will take administrative disciplinary action against officers who fail to submit their declarations.

"The public officer will take personal responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the information submitted to the commission.

"Public institutions are advised to commence disciplinary action against public officers who would have failed to comply from January 2, 2022, in accordance with human resource policies and procedures manual and inform the commission on sanctions taken by January 31, 2022," the commission warned.

Those who have been targeted by the directive include public officers in the ministries, state departments, and state corporations. The commission added that the declaration forms could be accessed on the PSC website.

Following the directive, various state institutions such as the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), have taken the initiative to remind their employees of the directive that was issued by the government.

"The wealth declaration exercise is ongoing and will come to an end on 31st December 2021.  Avoid the last minute rush by filling up the forms early," TSC cautioned.
