Laikipia Woman Representative, Cate Warguru, launched a scathing attack on Jubilee Vice Chair, David Murathe, over the current state of the ruling party.

Speaking in Laikipia on Saturday, November 6, Waruguru claimed that Murathe and other top officials in the party have been blocking elected Members of Parliament and Governors from reaching President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The outspoken Woman Rep claimed that Murathe has been leading a group of individuals to take up top government positions and businesses in the pretence of mitigating graft.

Waruguru questioned why party officials would deny elected members to access to the President, alleging that Murathe and his team have benefitted financially from the Head of State's fallout with his deputy.

"What was your sole intention in breaking the Jubilee Party? Was this not an issue that could have been discussed and solved in State House?" Waruguru wondered, accusing Murathe and his team of colluding to mess up the party and siphon funds.

"Any outsider who doesn't even vote in Kenya will tell you that Murathe was used to dissolve the Jubilee Party by certain people so that they grab top government jobs and businesses."

The Laikipia Woman Representative went on to claim that President Kenyatta has been lied to and misguided by individuals who wanted to see the BBI make a come back even after the Court of Appeal ruling that was delivered on August 20, 2021, declaring the initiative unconstitutional.

"Jubilee Party has been hijacked by few people who are not elected leaders, in fact, they are party officials or political brokers hanging around Jubilee Party," Waruguru stated.

Although she hailed the handshake between President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, Waruguru stated that she blamed the Jubilee officials over the fallout between the Head of State and his Deputy, William Ruto.

Waruguru maintained she will support DP Ruto in his 2022 presidential bid.

The Woman Rep was initially part of the DP's campaign team but defected to President Uhuru's team in 2020, before decamping to Ruto's UDA for the second time in July this year.

Her defection followed shortly after the Jubilee Party lost the Kiambaa Parliamentary seat to United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a loss that put the President's wing on a false start in the 2022 polls.

A section of political leaders wanted the top leadership of Jubilee reconstituted following the defeat but this is yet to happen.
