The fire comes just weeks after the school was closed indefinitely after a fire razed a dormitory housing 200 students on November 8, 2021.

Six students were arrested in connection to the incident and detained at the Bondo Sub County police station.

“It is true six students are being held following preliminary investigations. More students could be arrested too, we wait for the investigations,” he said.

On Wednesday, December 1, the school's administration released the over 400 form four students after a series of threats to raze down the dormitory.

The Form four students allegedly refused to write their mock examinations and threatened to burn down their dormitory again.

The students had allegedly penned the threats on toilet walls, expressing their contempt over the mock exams.

The Education Ministry has warned students over fire incidents in schools.

Education CS George Magoha, on Monday, November 8, warned that students linked to fire incidents in schools would be blocked from joining public schools.

The CS noted that the directive would help curb indiscipline cases in these learning institutions.

"It looks mundane and juvenile to burn a building. It is stupid, it's primitive and must stop. We are not closing any schools," stated the CS.
