The National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) has put on notice over 100 non- governmental Organisations and government officers involved in a fresh Sh99 million scam.
The NGOs are alleged to have colluded with officials to fraudulently obtain funds from Nacada under the guise of promoting anti-alcohol and drugs campaigns The Standard reports.
According to NACADA chairman John Mututho only three NGOs out of those that received the money had complied with the regulations of the board.
Speaking at a hotel in Embu, today Monday, the NACADA Chairman has asked the NGOS involved to refund the money.
Mututho has also warned anti-drugs body officials who colluded with the NGOs to resign before before they are nabbed, noting that most of those involved are police officers and assistant chiefs.
The Nacada boss has noted that one of the NGOs fraudulently received Sh3million adding that the body is investigating the amount each organisation received and how it was used.
