According to Kwame Parker, head of power and infrastructure for East Africa at South Africa's Standard Bank a google investment into the project would be a boost of confidence for other investors.
Other Committed funders in the project include the African Development Bank (Africa’s equivalent of the World Bank), the European Union’s European Investment Bank, the development agencies of Finland and other organizations from European countries Fortune reports.
The farm is scheduled for completion in 2017 and could deliver 300 megawatts to the Kenyan grid, which represents 20 percent of all the electricity produced in the country.
