A Kenyan woman working in Jordan was last week found dead.

Jordani newspaper reports indicated that the unnamed woman, aged 22, jumped from the second floor of a building at the University of Jordan Street in Amman.

The lady was rushed and admitted at a nearby hospital but passed away. Her body was transferred to a forensic medical facility to determine the cause of death, the Nation reports.

The news of her demise came amid calls by 17 other Kenyans in the diaspora who  are seeking help in returning home.

They reportedly escaped from their employers who they accussed of mistreating them.

A Kenyan working in Jordan Sunday said that the 17 were stuck in Amman because their passports were confiscated by their employers.

Garaan News Sunday reported that the 17 were staying at a deportation camp because they would not return to their respective jobs.

Director of Diaspora Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Washington Oloo claimed that his office had not received information of the death but was currently preparing on returning the 17 back home.

The Labor ministry wrote to the Jordani government to stop employment of Kenyans until a mutual agreement had been reached.
