Catherine Kamau

Catherine Kamau, better known as Kate Actress, is no stranger to our screens, as she has long been one of Kenya’s most recognisable actresses.

Her prowess in film expanded in 2025 as her influence went beyond entertainment. Earlier in the year, she was appointed Global Goodwill Ambassador for a new international humanitarian movement.

2025 also marked the launch of her own charitable organisation, Auntie Kate Foundation, which mainly focuses on the welfare of the girl child, menstrual health, community nutrition and women empowerment.

Beyond philanthropy, Catherine remains one of Kenya’s most celebrated actresses. From her breakout role in Mother-in-Law to starring in hit productions like Sue Na Jonnie, Disconnect, and Plan B, she has built a versatile career spanning more than 15 years.

Her strong screen presence and ability to reinvent herself continue to make her a favourite among Kenyan audiences.

Among the accolades she was feted with was being recognised as the Brand Influencer of the Year under Africa Best of the Year 2025 by Ranks Africa, an initiative curated to celebrate standout brands and individuals shaping the continent's growth.
