Elizabeth Angira

Having begun her journalism career after earning a diploma in mass communication and journalism, Elizabeth Angira has, over time, developed into a versatile multimedia journalist, writing features and news articles, producing radio content, and engaging in audio editing and scriptwriting.

In 2025, Angira’s work achieved international recognition when she won third place at the global Energy of Words International Media Contest in the category “Best Energy Story in Foreign Media”.

Her story examined how renewable energy innovations are transforming rural communities: powering farms, improving livelihoods, and boosting climate resilience. That achievement placed her among a small number of African journalists acknowledged on the global stage in 2025.

Angira's career spans print, online and broadcast media, giving her a broad platform to address social, environmental, gender and development issues.

Her reporting covers a wide range of important topics, including climate and environment, agriculture, health and gender, human interest stories, and energy, especially stories that are often neglected by mainstream media.

Elizabeth is accredited by the national regulatory body for media professionals and is a member of several journalist associations.
