Recognised as the fastest man in Africa, Ferdinand Omanyala continues to excel both on and off the tracks
His 2025 started off with a victory in the 100m at the Athletics South Africa Grand Prix, before claiming gold in the men's 100m at the Athletics Kenya National Championships in June 2025.
At the Absa Kip Keino Classic in May, he finished third in the 100m with a time of 10.07 seconds.
His most notable achievement this year was when he set a new African record in the less-common 150m event at the Atlanta City games, clocking an impressive 14.70 seconds.
While his season ended with a disappointing semi-final exit at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Omanyala still reigns supreme on the tracks, with his name always attached to African greats in the sprinting department.
What makes his feats remarkable is the fact that Omanyala endured the 2025 season while battling several stubborn injuries, yet he still managed incredible feats.
