Jane Njeri Maina

Jane Njeri Maina, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, is the incumbent Woman Representative for Kirinyaga County, having made history in 2022 as the youngest Member of Parliament ever elected in Central Province at the age of 28.

She studied law at the University of Nairobi and trained at the Kenya School of Law. Before joining politics, she worked as a lawyer and in public service.

Njeri's main focus is on youth and women. She speaks for young people in courts and parliament. She has taken up cases and public issues that affect Gen Z, for instance, during the protests.

In October 2025, she received the Champion for Justice Award from Delaware Governor Matt Meyer, on behalf of the Delaware community in the United States, for her tireless efforts in defending young Kenyans arrested during the anti-government protests.

This international recognition highlights her significant advocacy work for Gen Z rights within the justice system.

Earlier in May 2025, she was also honoured in the United Kingdom during the MK Inspiration Awards for her contribution to youth and women's leadership in Kenya.
