Mathildah Amollo is an agripreneur and the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Greatlakes Feeds, an aquaculture company focused on producing sustainable fish feeds and high-quality fingerlings.
She has over ten years of experience working with rural communities and women's groups in the Lake Victoria region to foster financial inclusivity and improve livelihoods
Great Lakes Feeds is focused on empowering women, as it sources more than 70 per cent of its raw products from women and offers credit-based fish cases and other inputs within the Lake Victoria basin.
Through this initiative, women can engage in commercial fish farming, helping them to evade exploitative practices such as ‘sex for fish’ within the Lake region.
Her innovative approach to women's empowerment earned her the top award at the 2025 WAYA, an initiative by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
Before starting her Great Lakes firm, she worked as a Finance Manager at Sarova Hotels for over two decades. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Nairobi.
