Njerae

Njerae is a rising star in East Africa's music scene as an Afro-Indie musician, who achieved a significant milestone in 2024 by signing with Universal Music Group East Africa (UMG EA).

This partnership, announced in August 2024, marked a pivotal moment in her career as it opened doors to international collaborations, tours, and greater visibility for her work. UMG EA recognised her unique artistry and potential to elevate East African music on the global stage, reinforcing her position as one of the region’s most promising talents.

Her first project under UMG EA was the remix of her hit song "Aki Sioni," originally released in 2022 as part of her successful album Unintentional

It was produced in collaboration with Nigerian producer WonderMajik and redubbed "Aki Sioni (Magik Mix).

The reimagined track introduced vibrant, summery elements, showcasing her versatility and artistic evolution. This project also marked Njerae's first cross-border collaboration, emphasizing her readiness to embrace global influences.

In a previous interview, Njerae described the remix as a way of "breathing fire into existing tracks," offering fans a fresh perspective while celebrating her journey as an artist.

Looking forward, Njerae promised exciting new ventures, including collaborations with producers, visual artists, fashion designers, and filmmakers.

In November, Njerae was nominated for the Africa Choice Awards (ACA) in the fiercely competitive 'Underground Artist of the Year' category.
