Professor George Nyabuga is a distinguished academic, media scholar, and former journalist who has dedicated his career to shaping the continent's media landscape and advancing higher education standards.
Currently serving as the Associate Dean at the Aga Khan University's Graduate School of Media and Communications (GSMC), he is a respected authority with a PhD in media, politics, and history from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.
Before transitioning fully into academia, where he taught at the University of Nairobi for over 13 years, he held senior editorial positions, including Managing Editor for Weekend Editions at the Standard Group, and worked for the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
His research interests span the sociology of journalism, digital media, and the critical relationship between media, politics, and democracy in Africa.
He also sits on the Executive Council of the Kenya Editors' Guild, representing academia.
In July this year, he was recognised as one of the top five most educated individuals in Africa due to his contributions in journalism.
