Faith Cherotich is a 21-year-old athlete specializing in 3000m steeplechase.
Cherotich is currently recognised for her 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and an Olympic bronze medal in Paris 2024.
She won gold in Tokyo with a time of 8:51.59, setting a new championship record.
Cherotich also retained her Diamond League title for the second consecutive year, earning Kenya an additional wild card entry for the World Championships.
Earlier in the season, she claimed victory at the Bislett Games, an annual track and field event in Oslo, Norway, with a world-leading time of 9:02.60, defeating Olympic champion Winfred Yavi.
She later recorded a personal best of 8:48.71 at the Prefontaine Classic, ranking her among the fastest steeplechasers in history.
In 2023, Cherotich earned the World Athletics female star by winning the most prestigious female athlete award at the Kenya Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
