The family of a retired judge has appealed for intervention from law enforcement authorities after a gang raided their farm, destroyed property before fencing off the extensive parcel located in Kamulu, Nairobi County.

Addressing journalists, the retired female judge and her husband, a retired police officer stated that the armed gang has been raiding the property since last week, during which, property estimated to be worth thousands of Shillings has been destroyed.

The couple further reported that the gang which is alleged to be affiliated with a land grabber also fenced off the land since taking over a section of the farm.

“The armed gang has firearms and its members are riding motorbikes, they have been chasing us out of our land”, the ex-police officer stated.

Reportedly, the family purchased the land over thirty years ago and is now seeking justice to ward off the alleged land grabber from the property who is reported to have already subdivided the parcel with beacons.

“Those people who are encroaching on our land, have now added a fence just three days after raiding the farm. They have also created pathways and built a site house within the land,” the wife stated.

Additionally, the family has noted that their efforts to have the issue addressed at the Kamulu Police Station have proven to be futile.

They are now calling upon the Inspector General to help them reclaim their land.

"The person perpetrating the raid had taken one section of the land and they have now added another. They have now taken 10 acres of my land,” the farm owner stated.

However, this land-grabbing claim in Kamulu is not an isolated incident as Mavoko residents have also been lamenting harassment by gangs associated with senior government officials.

According to the Mavoko residents, a senior county government official and his family were accused of grabbing land which resulted in their eviction from their homes.

They further accused the grabbers of assault where a man’s hand was chopped off by hired individuals over the land row.
