Kenyan company Gabeire A Group (GAG) has been awarded a tender to construct a 250-kilometer toll road in Madagascar.
The road is a multibillion-dollar project which will run from Antananarivo to Toamasina. The project is valued at Ksh131 Billion (USD 1 billion) and funded by the World Bank.
Speaking at the launch ceremony to commemorate the beginning of the construction project, Trade Cabinet Secretary, Rebecca Miano noted that the project was a vote of confidence for the Kenyan workforce.
"Kenya's labour force stands as the cornerstone of our nation, recognized globally for its excellence. It is a source of immense pride and serves as the bedrock of our economy. This achievement underscores Kenya's expertise and capacity in the realm of infrastructure development and investment," she stated.
