Propak East Africa, the leading B2B exhibition and conference for the packaging, printing, plastics, and food and beverage processing sectors in East Africa, is on the verge of welcoming over 150 exhibitors from more than 35 countries worldwide, from March 12 to March 14, at the Sarit Expo Centre. The event which has been organised by Montgomery Group, will be the largest summit which will focus on industry innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.
"We are thrilled to welcome attendees to Propak East Africa 2024. This year's edition will offer a unique opportunity for industry stakeholders to engage with cutting-edge products and services, participate in thought-provoking sessions, and network with key buyers from Kenya, East Africa, and around the globe," stated Angela Kinyua, Portfolio Director at Montgomery Group.
Propak East Africa aims to address the pressing challenges and opportunities facing the industry, including the rising demand for sustainable packaging solutions. With Africa's economic boom driving increased consumption of packaged goods, there is a growing need to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability.
According to statistics, an equivalent of over 2,000 garbage trucks full of plastic finds its way into our oceans, rivers, and lakes each day, a number that is tipped to triple by 2060 if no intervention is taken. A 2020 study published in Science Advances estimates that by 2040, Africa will mismanage 250 million tons of plastic waste if the current trend continues.
