1 Killed as Armed Gang Attack Governor Evans Kidero’s Bodyguard in Nairobi

One suspect was on Monday evening killed by police officers after he, together with two accomplices, allegedly attacked Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s bodyguard in Dandora Phase two.

The bodyguard, identified as Sylvester Ambasa, informed the police that he had parked his vehicle by the roadside when he was attacked by a three-man gang on a motorcycle.

Ambasa narrated that the gang threatened him using a gun, robbed him of his mobile phone and Sh5,000 before escaping using the motorcycle.

According to the bodyguard, he chased the gang while shooting at them attracting police officers on patrol who managed to kill one of the suspects.

The officers recovered two rounds of ammunition and the Ambasa's stolen phone from the deceased. The cash was, however, not recovered.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter and are currently pursuing the other suspects. The motive of the attack was not immediately established.
