After incessant complaints that he was being frozen out of key political events by both senior government officials and Azimio politicians, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Monday announced he was embarking on self-induced silence lasting four months.

Kuria vowed that he would never contribute to political discourse until August 2024.

At that time, he explained that he would have a presser which he claimed would change the political dynamics of the country.

“I will be issuing a major announcement that will change the political future and landscape of Kenya on 20th August 2024 at 10 am,” CS Kuria stated.

On taking a vow of silence, he stated, “Until then, I will not issue a political position or opinion on any issue.”

This was not the first time Moses Kuria was threatening to be silent after encountering political frustrations.

After performing dismally in the Kiambu gubernatorial contest in August 2022, Kuria stated that he would no longer engage Kenyans on social media.

The vow barely lasted a week as he became active in criticising the opposition for their reluctance to recognise William Ruto as the duly elected President of the Republic of Kenya.

Kuria’s latest frustration stems from what he perceives as spite from the National Government and leaders from his home turf.

The CS had earlier complained about why President William Ruto kept inviting Kiambu leaders to the State House without his knowledge.

He remarked that any discussion touching on Kiambu should not proceed without his presence as he was the senior most politician from the region courtesy of his cabinet position.

Kuria has also shown his frustration that former Members of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni and Martha Karua hold high-profile political meetings including Limuru 3 rally without inviting him.
