Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Thursday took a swipe at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following the latter's alleged attempts to intervene in the planned Mt Kenya caucus dubbed Limuru III.

The CS while speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, expressed his displeasure with the deputy president’s attempts to convince Martha Karua and Jeremiah Kioni to change their stance on the Limuru III meeting.

The second in command allegedly invited Karua and Kioni to his Karen residence in Nairobi in a bid to address the plights of the two leaders.

However, the deputy president’s move did not augur well with CS Kuria who dismissed Gachagua’s call for a meeting with the two Azimio politicians.

“He is my boss but I don't agree with him because we were elected by the people to solve their issues," CS Kuria remarked on Gachagua's sentiments to Karua and Kioni.

Jeremiah Kioni and Martha Karua are alleged to be among the leaders spearheading the Limuru III meeting alongside other prominent Mt Kenya politicians.

According to CS Kuria, it was unethical for the deputy president to convene a meeting with the two leaders at his residence.

Kuria while defending his sentiments, urged Gachagua to instead approach the two leaders at their residence and not his, claiming that the deputy president did not have such powers to address Karua and Kioni the way he did.

“Solutions of this country have no forwarding address that If you have a problem you go to a specific person, this country has a lot of problems. Who are you?” Kuria questioned as he lectured the DP.

"If Martha Karua or Jeremiah Kioni called me to their house I will go, they don't have to come to me,” he added.

When questioned on why he changed his stance on attending the Limuru III meeting, the CS accused the Jubilee secretary general of watering down his efforts to attend the crucial meeting.

"I had planned to give a talk only to wake up yesterday and Kioni is speaking all over, fighting me, saying the way I am not invited and I am inviting myself. I thought this was a community meeting," CS Kuria stated.

"I was part of Limuru 1, I was part of the organizers for Limuru II and I don’t see anything wrong with Limuru III."
