President William Ruto arrived on Saturday, May 25, evening after a 4-day state visit to the United States of America (USA).
Ruto, who landed at the Jomo Kenyatta Internationa Airport (JKIA), was received by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo
The President landed in his chartered Boeing 737-700, a plane he flew with to the USA amid uproar over the cost of hiring it.
The plane is estimated to cost the taxpayers about Ksh2.4 million per hour.
At the airport, Ruto arrived alongside his entourage including Defence CS Aden Duale and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah.
“It is good to be back home,” Ruto wrote on his social media page.
At the airport, Ruto engaged in some light moments with a group of cabinet officials and politicians.
Ruto's State Visit to the US started on May 20, having arrived the previous day and landed in Atlanta Georgia.
He later held a series of meetings before being hosted by US President, Joe Bidden to a luxurious State Dinner which saw several high-profile personalities invited, including former USA President Barack Obama.
In a statement on Thursday, May 24, at the close of Ruto's visit, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura said the president's state visit has benefited Kenyans with over Ksh600 billion worth of grants equipment, and projects.
Ruto's visit to the USA was the first ever of an African President since 2008 when George W Bush hosted then Ghanaian President John Kufuor.
