"There have been injuries at anti-government political demonstrations in recent months. Planned protests about the proposed Finance Bill 2024 are expected to continue across multiple cities in Kenya, including Nairobi," read the advisory in part.

"Avoid political gatherings and large crowds and monitor local media to see when and where major protests are likely."

The advisory of the UK was issued hours after the United States Embassy also cautioned its citizens over the protests.

US citizens living in Kenya were also advised to expect traffic disruptions in areas where the protests were being held.

"Organisers have stated that the events are intended to be peaceful.  However, large public gatherings can turn violent at any moment.  It is recommended to remain vigilant and aware of circumstances and to avoid large gatherings," read the statement in part.

"Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists/foreigners and have travel documents up to date and easily accessible."

As of Friday, two people including Rex Masai, were confirmed dead owing to the clash between the police and the protesters.

Over 14 others have been injured and are receiving medical attention from various hospitals.

Protests are set to continue on Tuesday as the Finance Bill proceeds to the Committee Stage.
