Friend Recounts Shadrack Kiprono's Last Moments Before Abduction

A friend to activist Shadrack Kiprono popularly known as Shad has shed light on the last moments before he was abducted at night.

According to the Kenyan who spoke to Africa Uncensored, the two were scheduled to meet in South B later in the night and were in communication.

"I was to meet up with him in South B but tensed a bit so I was late to go to the meeting point," he revealed.

The friend revealed that he was afraid of the ongoing threats and abductions of anti-finance bill protestors and it took longer to get to the meeting point with Shad.

He revealed that Shad went ahead to wait for him in his usual local entertainment joint where he assured he would be safe.

However, moments later, communication was lost and efforts to reach Shad were futile He later saw the video of the activist being bundled into a white car as some locals watched before it sped off.

"Shad sent a message at exactly 8.20 pm, then he suddenly went silent. A few minutes after that I saw the video going viral online," he stated.

The friend emphasised that the victim was instrumental in the ongoing protests including planning. He however clarified that Shad was not the leader of the movement.

He explained everyone was tired and was coming out to air their dissatisfaction with the current regime. The ally added that the demonstrations were not funded by anyone as alleged by some leaders supporting the government.

Conclusively, he called upon the government to listen to the concerns raised by young Kenyans and also spot misusing their power and harassing or kidnapping innocent Kenyans who are exercising their Constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, addressing the press on Tuesday Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo revealed that t he whereabouts of Shad are still unknown but the organisation was looking for him and others who were abducted.

Shad is among over 10 activists and X users who have been abducted in the last couple of days over their stance in the protests. Some of the have been released while LSK continues to secure the release of others.

Gabriel Oguda, Osama Otero, Austin Omondi, Franje, Hilla254, Drey Mwangi, TemperCR7, Harriet and Worldsmith are among those reportedly abducted by unknown individuals.

On this, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has given the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome 24 hours to ascertain the whereabouts of the mentioned victims.
