Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi announced the indefinite closure of his nightclub, Timba XO, after protestors vandalised it on Tuesday.
The MP in a self-recorded video lamented that the vandalism has set him back, estimating that repairs will cost him a great deal which may delay the reopening of the entertainment joint.
He also added that this closure had not only affected him but his employees as well who will now be forced to look for other means of livelihood to sustain themselves in these tough economic times.
"I know the people who organised vandalism at my establishment. After what you did, you've made people lose jobs, the hotel is now closed indefinitely and the workers can go home," he stated.
However, despite the damages caused and losses incurred, the MP revealed that he had forgiven all those involved in vandalising the property.
The MP appeared to be deeply bugged by the outcome of yesterday's anti-finance bill protests. In videos circulating online, residents from Eldoret were seen running into the nightclub and leaving with bottles of alcohol.
Additionally, youth were depicted pelting stones at the entertainment joint breaking window panes and some hitting police officers at the scene.
Some of the young Kenyans also engaged police officers in running battles as the officers attempted to use tear gas to disperse the crowd. However, the protestors got away with property of unknown value.
The legislator recently opened the multimillion club and has now been left to count losses.
Sudi's nightclub was among several properties affiliated with members of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which were destroyed yesterday by angry protestors.
In Nyeri, residents burnt down a supermarket belonging to the area MP, in Embu demonstrators burnt the governor's office while in Kikuyu they burnt MP Kimani Ichung'wah's office and vehicles in the parking lot.
The MPs were among those who voted in favour of the bill angering their constituents who took matters into their own hands.
Anti-Finance Bill protests are expected to resume on Thursday as Kenyans continue to voice their objection to the government's move to push through the piece of legislation.
