The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) momentarily stopped their patrol of the nation’s capital after one of their military trucks broke down.
In a show of military preparedness, the truck was repaired in under 5 minutes by one of the soldiers who was in the convoy.
The military was patrolling the capital in a single file and once a truck broke down, the convoy would come to a halt until the vehicle was repaired.
As one vehicle broke down on Enterprise Road, soldiers quickly alighted from other military trucks and surrounded the truck for protection.
With army precision and speed, one of the military personnel opened the hood to repair the vehicle engine.
Within five minutes, the vehicle was repaired and the soldiers removed their camouflage with the trucks snaking towards Moi Avenue.
Reports indicated that another armoured personnel carrier (APC) had earlier broken down resulting in another momentary pause of the procession.
The deployment of KDF was authorised by Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Tuesday, March 25, and ratified by Parliament on Wednesday.
The High Court is on Thursday expected to rule on a petition filed by the LSK seeking to reverse the government's decision to deploy KDF soldiers to quell protests.
Earlier on Thursday, KDF soldiers patrolled the streets of Nairobi in anticipation of Kenyans protesting against President William Ruto’s administration.
The patrol was largely peaceful as Kenyans waved to KDF soldiers on top of military trucks.
During the breakdown, Kenyans could be seen watching curiously through the military formation as the soldiers repaired their trucks.
This was in contrast to Tuesday's protests where Kenyans protesting against the Finance Bill pushed back against law enforcement.
At one moment, a police lorry guarding the Parliament buildings was set on fire by angry protesters.
