Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria stated that Prof Njuguna Ndung’u single-handedly managed to turn around Kenya’s economy.
Speaking during a funeral service for the burial of the late Mary Wanjiku Kimani sister-in-law to Prof.Njuguna Ndung'u, CS National Treasury & Economic Planning, Moses Kuria praised Njuguna Ndung’u citing that the country would have crumbled.
“For the past two years, without fear of contradiction, I can say that Professor Njuguna Ndung’u has held this country. If it were not for him this country would have crumbled a long time ago,” stated Kuria.
According to Kuria, the country’s economy was already in shambles when the current regime came into power, a situation that was well-handled by CS Ndung’u.
Kuria thanked the CS stating that Kenya had narrowly escaped public shaming by its debtors seeing that the loans had been repaid on time.
In his speech, the CS also added that in light of the current situation in the country, going forward decision-making in the government would only be influenced by the people.
“We have decided that going forward, its you (Kenyans) who will be telling us what to do. The choice is upon you whether you want a united nation or not,” CS Moses Kuria stated.
He further stated that he is willing to remain in government even if all other leaders desert the President.
Kuria further argued that if the people were to destabilise a government it would take many years to gain another.
“My people you need to understand that if you decide to shun the government now, it will take another 137 years to have another,” stated Kuria.
Kuria’s sentiments followed more when he earlier went after the Deputy President stating that he had abandoned the President.
He also took on an onslaught on the government stating that there were too many seminars conducted on a yearly basis by government officials.
