CA Director General David Mugonyi Revokes Licences of 27 Courier Service Providers

Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) Director General David Mugonyi has revoked the licences of 27 courier service providers.

Through a gazette notice dated Friday, July 6, Mugonyi announced that the revocation will take place within the next seven days.

Following the lapse of the seven days, the companies would be banned from offering parcel transportation services.

Among the affected companies include Borderline Ventures Limited, Bullbar Logistics and Couriers Company Limited, Chauffers Services Kenya Limited, Circular Classic Company Limited and  Donnel Incorporation Limited.

Also listed among the 27 were Emerald Freight International Limited, Expediters Cargo Logistics Limited, Flash International Courier Limited and Flexcom Enterprises.

"The revocation will take effect seven days from the date of this gazette notice. Any resources held under any of these licences shall revert to the Authority upon revocation.

"Upon revocation of the licences listed hereabove, the service providers/operators shall not be authorized to operate and provide the service," read the notice in part.

CA also revoked the licences of Foresight Ventures Limited, Gusii Commuter Sacco, IBMI Courier Service Limited, Kamongo Waster Paper (Kenya) Limited, Kinatwa Prestige Limited, Magik Turn Express Enterprises, Naemru Courier Services and Naif Travel and Logistics Limited.

Newton International Courier Limited, NTVRS Logistics (K) Limited, Pamar Exprss Referrals and Errands, Safeways Courier Services Limited, Simba Parcel Services, Talon Security (K) Limited and Timeless Courier Services also have their operation licences revoked.

Other affected providers were Vazguard Protection Services Limited, Wellborn Africa Limited and Western Express Coach Limited.

The CA is the body mandated with regulating and licencing companies intending to offer courier services across the country.

As highlighted in the notice, most of the companies were based in Nairobi, Embu, Mombasa, Yala and Isiolo.
