Police from Classic Nyeri County on Wednesday, July 24 launched investigations after a man was found with a human head.
According to the reports, the man was on his way to a scrap metal shop before he was arrested. It was yet to be established whether the victim was a man or a woman.
Additionally, police officers did not reveal why the man was heading to the scrap metal shop with the remains.
Benjamin Rotich, the Nyeri County Police Commander confirmed the incident adding that the man was taken in for questioning.
Rotich revealed that the man took the officers to a bush where they found a human body. The body parts were taken in by the police as evidence.
Following the discovery of the body and body parts, a section of Kenyans called for justice for the family of the victim adding that the suspect should be held culpable.
Additionally, Kenyans called upon the police to crack down on suspects involved in similar incidents which have been on the rise in the country.
This incident came a few days after a pastor from Webuye Bungoma County was found with a dead body inside the boot of his car. An arm was first discovered raising alarm before other body parts were discovered.
The pastor was arrested on July 9, by the detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at a petrol station where he usually fueled.
In yet another incident, police in Nairobi's Mukuru Kwa Njenga discovered mutilated bodies stashed inside sacks and dumped in the Kware dumpsite.
At least 10 bodies were recovered at the quarry as detectives continue with investigations into what happened. These bodies are also undergoing a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
One Collins Jomaisi was arrested in connection to the recovered bodies. He earlier confessed to killing 42 women before alleging that he was forced to confess.
