Fire broke out in Ngara area of Nairobi County after a gas station reportedly exploded in the wee hours of Sunday.
Witnesses shared video clips of the blaze burning down buildings along Desai Road.
It is, however, unclear if any fatalities were recorded during the incident. The value of damage is also yet to be determined.
By the time of publishing this story, police officers had arrived at the scene to help control the crowds while the firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
A witness confirmed that an ambulance was spotted at the scene of the incident on the morning of Sunday at around 7:30am.
Initial video clips of the incident showed an outbreak of the flames, reportedly connected to a gas station operating in the area.
The explosion comes just days after a mysterious fire razed down property of unknown value at a furniture shop located in the Kasarani area along the Thika Superhighway.
Witnesses confirmed that the fire broke out in the mid-morning obliterating the business.
The cause of the fire, however, remains a mystery while the value of the damaged property is yet to be determined.
On December 8 last year, another fire incident was reported at the same shop.
The fire which reportedly broke out at noon burnt property of unknown value with firefighters from Nairobi Disaster Management dispatched to help save the situation.
Police officers managed to arrive at the scene hours later and went ahead to cordone off the area before launching a probe into the matter.
