A mysterious fire on Wednesday morning razed down property of unknown value at a furniture shop located in the Kasarani area along the Thika Superhighway.
According to witnesses, the fire, which broke out in the mid-morning, burnt down furniture of unknown value and wiped out the business.
Following the incident, the area residents launched a rescue operation even as the fire escalated to the nearby shops.
In the videos obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, a section of the residents could be captured surrounding the scene of the incident even as rescue operations intensified.
A bellow of smoke was spotted emanating from the business building as owners of the neighbouring shops rushed to salvage their property.
The Kenya Red Cross officials were immediately dispatched to the scene and through the help of the residents, embarked on efforts to put out the fire and provide first aid for those injured.
"A fire incident has been reported at Bed Palace along Thika Road. Response teams en route to the scene," stated the Kenya Red Cross Society.
Meanwhile, the root cause of the fire is yet to be established. At the time of publishing this article, the police were yet to arrive at the scene of the inferno.
It is not the first time that the shop has been razed down, on December 8 last year, a fire incident was reported at the same shop.
The fire which reportedly broke out at noon burnt property of unknown value with firefighters from Nairobi Disaster Management dispatched to help save the situation.
In footage shared widely, the firefighters were captured battling the inferno to prevent it from spreading further and destroying other businesses.
Police officers managed to arrive at the scene hours later and went ahead to cordone the area before launching a probe into the matter.
