Nairobi Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Omatoke Mosiria has responded to the Embakasi East Member of Parliament's allegations of sexual abuse, opting not to engage the fiery legislator head-on.

Instead, Mosiria has turned to his old university, the University of Nairobi, writing to the university demanding it release any records of disciplinary action taken against him.

Mosiria through his lawyers in a letter to the university seen by Kenyans.co.ke, stated that Babu Owino in an old video that resurfaced online, was heard accusing Mosiria of being expelled from the University of Nairobi for allegedly sexually abusing a second-year student.

The MP in the viral clip, alleged that he had to intervene for Mosiria to be taken back by the university. The video has been circulating on social media platforms Facebook, X Tiktok and WhatsApp.

However, Mosiria in his letter to UoN, through his lawyer Otieno Mokaya, has requested the university to clarify the allegations made by the MP, noting that such allegations would hurt and injure Mosoria's future career and endeavors.

"We hereby seek clarification whether our client was a student at the University of Nairobi,  whether our client was expelled at any time during his studies at the University of Nairobi," reads part of the letter addressed to the office of Prof. Margaret Jesang' Hutchinson the Acting Vice-Chancellor.

"If the answers to the above questions are affirmative whether the expulsion was as a result of the allegations as contained in the video circulating in social media i.e Rape and Sexual Assault as alleged by  Mr. Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino," the letter added.

Mosiria has argued that the allegations by the MP, would hurt his future endeavors and the clarification would be very important.

"This narrative thereof stands to irreparably injure the reputation, image, and public perception of our client being a public servant," read part of the letter by the lawyers.

According to the letter, Mosiria was a former student at the University of Nairobi from 2011 to 2014 where he pursued a Bachelor Of Commerce (Finance Option) Degree.

The Nairobi CEC has requested the university to promptly respond so that he can calculate his next step to protect, and safeguard his reputation and ensure his fundamental freedoms and rights are not infringed and threatened.

Mosiria who serves as the Chief officer of the environment at Nairobi County has been on the frontline streamlining environmental issues in Nairobi including noise pollution, food safety, and environmental conservation.
