Siaya police, in conjunction with Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives, arrested the seventh suspect in connection with the murder of Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko on Tuesday evening.

The arrest followed a tip-off from the public. The 57-year-old suspect was tracked and apprehended in the Doho area of Kakamega County. Police reports indicate that he was successfully flushed out of his hideout in a joint operation.

The suspect is believed to have been involved in the brutal murder of Ayieko, who was laid to rest on Saturday, November 9, in Siaya County.

The suspect is now in police custody and undergoing processing as he assists detectives with their investigations.

It comes as another suspect, a bodaboda rider believed to have played a part in ferrying the main suspect to the location where the late Ayieko was abducted, was arrested in Kisumu.

The Wells Fargo HR boss went missing on Friday, October 21, and his handcuffed body was discovered a week later near a stream in Gem.

Ayieko's brother Aggrey Onyango struggled to come to terms with his demise, wondering why he had to undergo such pain.

"Who wanted my brother dead so much that he'd hire someone to kill him in this manner? My brother died a painful death," he revealed.

During an emotional funeral service held last week at the All Saints' Cathedral, family and friends paid glowing tributes to a man they described as classy and generous.

His wife, Esther Wagumba, said her husband had a huge impact on the lives of many and that his selfless nature was admirable.

The latest arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into Ayieko's death, which garnered significant media attention and public interest due to its implications for safety and crime in the region.

The investigation into his death has been extensive, involving multiple law enforcement agencies working together to identify and apprehend those responsible. The case has seen several suspects arrested over time, indicating a complex network potentially involved in the crime.
