The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested another suspect implicated in the gruesome murder of Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko.
The additional arrest was effected in the ongoing investigation into the murder of slain Ayieko who was found dumped in the Mungowere stream in Siaya County on October 23.
The suspect was apprehended in Kisumu on Monday, November 4. It is believed the suspect played a significant role in the events preceding the tragic incident of Ayieko’s murder after he went missing for five days after attending a funeral vigil in Gem.
The suspect who is a motorcycle rider, is alleged to have provided transport to the main suspect to the location where Ayieko was abducted.
The suspect, who was provided transport is currently held in police custody and was linked to other crimes in the past together with his brother.
Sleuths are continuing with their investigations to pursue several leads to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding Ayieko's murder.
It comes barely two days after another suspect was gunned down on Sunday by the police in Kisumu City. Following his death, the police recovered two firearms from him, one belonging to the victim Willis Ayieko.
It was also discovered that the suspect was wanted for several violent robbery cases in the region and he used various aliases depending on who asked, in a bid to mask his identity and hide his transgressions from police officers.
So far four suspects are in custody, one died in a police shootout and another one was ambushed by the police and fatally gunned down in Kisumu.
Among them is a woman found in the house of the suspect who was gunned down in Kisumu and was also arrested to help the police in probing the murder of the HR manager of Wells Fargo. DCI last Wednesday had arrested two suspects linked to the murder and another suspect was arrested at his hideout in Nairobi's Dandora Phase IV on Monday 28 October night.
The family of the deceased on November 2 commended the National Police Service (NPS) for taking stern action against suspects linked to Ayieko's gruesome murder.
