Molo Member of Parliament Kuria Kimani has responded to the rumors that he is gearing up towards replace Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as the National Assembly's Budget and Appropriations Committee chairman.
There have been reports that Ndindi Nyoro would be axed from the position as President William Ruto continues with the purge against allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The Nation on Tuesday, November 19, reported that there are plans to have the MP replace Nyoro.
In response, Kimani revealed that he was not yet privy to the communication of the changes but maintained that he was ready should the changes be effected.
"Government organizes itself how they want. That proposal has not come. It will have to come through a select committee of Parliament, something that has not happened," the MP said.
He, however, revealed that should the communication come, he would gladly take the position since he is ready to serve Kenyans from any position.
"I am always at the service of Kenyans wherever way, whichever committee I need to serve, whether it is finance, transport, energy. I am always available for services to the people of Molo and the people of Kenya in whichever capacity that I am given a chance to serve," the MP said.
Reports have revealed that a section of employees attached to the impeached DP have been resigning as they fear a looming purge on them.
On Tuesday, November 19, Laikipia Senator and a close ally to Gachugua, John Kinyua, resigned as a commissioner of the Parliamentary Service Commission.
The news of his resignation was announced in a Senate plenary session by Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot on Tuesday.
In his notice of motion, Cheruiyot informed the House that Senator Kinyua would be replaced by Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga.
The Senators present on the floor of the House voted in favor of Senator Wahome to replace Senator Kinyua in the committee leadership.
Since his impeachment, former DP Rigathi Gachagua's allies have been fired from various positions. The former DP on his part raised an alarm on his security revealing that he was being trailed.
