The tragic incident occurred after an altercation between his entourage and rowdy bodaboda riders.

The fourth-year student’s death was revealed on Tuesday, November 19, with reports indicating that he was hacked several times by a mob.

According to reports, Akoko, who hails from Siaya County, heeded an invite from a friend in Kibera and promptly arrived at the slums in the company of a man and woman.

It is alleged that Akoko offered to buy all revellers at the joint within the slums drinks before proceeding to a different club where a popular Ohangla musician was performing.

It was at the club that all hell broke loose. A fracas ensued between Akoko's entourage and some boda boda riders incensed by something that the Kirinyaga University student said.

In the fiasco, the lady who accompanied Akoko to the club sustained serious injuries but managed to escape with her life. His driver also escaped and informed police of the harrowing incident.

Akoko lived large routinely flaunting his lavish lifestyle, sharing recreational endeavours which included nights out and road trips on social media.

His death came barely two months after Dennis Oduor Otieno alias "Denno Bright", another Kirinyaga University student was found dead in a Mombasa apartment after reportedly collapsing following an eventful night out.
