Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called out former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for criticising the Kenya Kwanza Government.

On Monday, January 20, the PCS urged the former DP to stop deceiving Kenyans and move on from the impeachment. According to Mudavadi, the law prohibits Gachagua from assuming any public office due to the impeachment, and he should now move forward.

"Let us not waste our time; let us move on. If somebody was mourning, they have finished mourning, the mourning period is over. Kenya must move on. We don't have time to listen to you grieving every day," Mudavadi admonished Gachagua.

The PCS also advised Kenyans not to fall into Gachagua's traps and not to listen to him, as he lost his authority after being impeached.

Mudavadi’s reprimand of Gachagua comes after the former Deputy President alleged that President William Ruto scripted some of the speeches that put him in a bad light and orchestrated his impeachment.

Speaking on Sunday, Gachagua claimed that Ruto micromanages the political affairs of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and scripts speeches for political leaders, including himself.

"When you see MPs speaking, it’s Ruto who has sent them. I was with him, and he used to write to me what to say. I said it for three days and realised this person wanted to make me fall out with Kenyans. This issue of shareholding, he’s the one who told me to tell Kenyans that this government is about shares," Gachagua alleged.

Since his impeachment, Gachagua has been vocally criticising the Kenya Kwanza government. The former Deputy President has been challenging the government, questioning its accountability, responsibility, and actions, particularly regarding the rise in abductions.

Gachagua has called on Ruto and his administration to ensure that security is reinforced across the country, abducted individuals are released, and such cases are stopped.

Gachagua ceased to be Kenya's Deputy President on October 17, 2023, after the Senate upheld the National Assembly’s vote to impeach him. Fifty-four senators voted in favour of his impeachment for gross violations of the Constitution, while 13 voted against his removal.

Under the law, following his impeachment, Gachagua may no longer be able to hold elected office again.
