The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Renson Ingonga, has been awarded the best public service CEO at the Digital Transformation Public Sector Awards 2025 in Mombasa.
The DPP was handed a plaque and certificate of recognition by the Information, Communication, and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo, who graced the ceremony on Friday, February 28.
"We are excited by the digital transformation, and I assure you the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions will be at the forefront of embracing the digital era," Ingonga said.
"William Kabogo, the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, handed the DPP the award, consisting of a plaque and certificate of recognition, the ODPP stated.
Ingonga was ranked second from a category of six nominees following a selection process by a team of judges in the award panel from the public and private sectors.
"The forum, which aims to advance digital solutions within government operations, attracted experts and leaders dedicated to driving innovation and efficiency," ODPP stated
The DPP was recognized following the successful rollout of the Uadilifu Case Management System at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The Uadilifu Case Management System is a digital solution that has been fundamental in streamlining how the ODPP handles case files. The system allows prosecutors to process files more efficiently and swiftly.
According to Ingonga, the system has been fundamental in reinforcing the working relationship between the ODPP and the Judiciary.
"The DPP has consistently emphasized how the system has improved the working relationship between the ODPP and the Judiciary, particularly with the filing of charge sheets, and promised to ensure its successful rollout at the national level," ODPP stated.
The award comes barely a year after the Ingonga was elected president of the Africa Prosecutors Association (APA) in Morocco and two months after he was bestowed with the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) award by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
According to Kabogo, his ministry will be at the forefront in spearheading digital solutions within the government by ensuring the transition from manual to paperless correspondences.
During the same event, the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services also received an award and was recognized as the Best Collaborative Digital Public Sector Initiative (ETA), State Department of the Year, Digital Innovation, and 1st Runner Up Overall Digital Transformation Public Sector Awards 2025.
The award plaque and a certificate of recognition were handed to the Director General of Immigration, Evelyn Cheluget, by the CS.
