At least three police stations and an auction company have announced the sale of motorcycles and vehicles, with car prices starting as low as Ksh149,000, across various locations in the country.
In an advertisement published in a local newspaper, the auction company Onyango and Tarus announced plans to dispose of vehicles through a public auction. The auction will be held at multiple yards nationwide, allowing potential buyers to bid on a wide range of vehicle models, including sedans, SUVs, vans, and commercial trucks.
Among the affordable options is a Toyota Succeed 2014 model going for Ksh149,000 and is available for viewing at Integra Yard.
Additionally, in the category of low-priced cars is a 2000 Nissan Sunny B14, priced at Ksh215,000, and a 2012 Suzuki Alto, listed at Ksh268,000.
For those in need of utility vehicles, there’s a 2014 Toyota Landcruiser Hzj79A, going for Ksh1,711,000, a 2010 Isuzu Dmax Tir54 S/Cab available for Ksh411,000 and a 2018 Ashok Leyland 90.16 G&C Turbo going for Ksh2,067,000.
For individuals in search of personal vehicles, a range of Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda models are on offer, with popular choices including the Toyota Vitz, Axio, Hilux Surf, Nissan Caravan, and Nissan Serena.
Mid-range premium cars available for the auction include a Volkswagen Golf lv 1.6 Auto going for Ksh368,000, a 2014 Toyota Hybrid available at Ksh880,000, and a 2004 Honda Stream at Ksh300,000.
Prospective buyers are encouraged to visit the specified viewing locations before the official sale date. The auction will be conducted through a private treaty agreement, with sales expected to be finalized on March 11, 2025.
Police Stations
At Soweto Police Station in Nairobi, an auctioneer has warned owners of 19 motorcycles that they will be put on sale by public auction should the owners fail to pick them up within 30 days.
This is after the police station moved to court to seek an order to dispose of the bikes after the owners failed to pick them up.
Additionally, at Obama Police Station(Nairobi), the auctioneer announced that 11 motorcycles will also be put on auction by March 20.
Furthermore, at Kamukunji Police Station, 17 motorcycles that have been lying idle at the station are already on auction and are available for public viewing.
At the station also lies an Isuzu minibus, a Subaru Legacy(body shell), a Toyota Noah car, and a Toyota Townace that are all set to be sold by public auction after owners failed to claim them.
