The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through its State Department for Labour and Skills Development, has announced a call for applications from eligible firms to provide professional cleaning and security guard services.

According to the notice issued via the government publication MyGov on Tuesday, the tender is for the next three financial years.

The tender, referenced as ML&SP/SDL&SD/OT/001/2024-2025-2026/2027 for the provision of professional cleaning services, does not require bid security and is reserved for youth, women, and persons living with disabilities.

The other tender for the provision of security guard services has a Ksh100,000 security bid and is open to everyone.

Interested firms are invited to submit their bids for the provision of these essential services.

The ministry has made the tender documents available for free download on the government tender portal, and the State Department's website.

These documents contain detailed qualification criteria that bidders must meet to be considered for the contract.

A mandatory pre-tender site visit has been scheduled for Friday, 21 March, at 10 am. The visit will take place in the conference room located on the 7th floor of the NSSF Building, Block A, Eastern Wing.

This site visit is essential for bidders to familiarise themselves with the facilities and understand the scope of work required. Further directions will be provided during the visit.

Firms that download the tender documents are required to register their details, including the firm's name, postal and physical address, email, and contact telephone numbers.

Registration should be completed through the office of the Head of Supply Chain Management via procurement@labour.go.ke before the closing date.

The closing date for bid submission is set for March 28.

The ministry has emphasised the importance of adhering to the submission timeline to avoid disqualification.
