Police have launched a manhunt for a man accused of allegedly killing his former lover in a deadly love triangle.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), police are searching for the man said to have been accosted and slain by his ex-wife’s husband, who was aggrieved by her decision to start a new relationship.
In a statement on X, DCI revealed that the 32-year-old woman met her death on Monday night outside the house of her current boyfriend.
DCI said the woman was found with deep cuts on the head outside the rented house in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.
The victim was last seen heading to her boyfriend's house around 8 p.m. However, an hour later, at 9 p.m., her lifeless body was discovered soaked in blood.
The incident was reported by Saos Area Chief Judith Chebon, and detectives from DCI Koibatek have commenced investigations.
According to the DCI, they are in pursuit of the ex-husband, who has gone into hiding.
Since the start of the year, at least five women have been found dead under unclear circumstances.
Among the victims is Lydiah Tokesi, a 29-year-old Moi University graduate whose mutilated body was discovered in Gataka Forest, Kajiado County, after she went missing on January 4. Authorities are seeking her long-term boyfriend as the key suspect.
Another woman whose murder police are still investigating is Joy Fridah Munani, a 19-year-old whose dismembered body parts were found in a backpack carried by her husband, John Kiama Wambua, in Nairobi County.
The other victims include Laurine Ochieng, who was allegedly killed by her estranged husband in Siaya County after being invited to discuss their issues, and Winnie Akusuh, who was reportedly stabbed to death by her husband in Nandi County following a domestic dispute.
The incident left their three children orphaned.
