Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has dismissed allegations of plotting to release an exposé against President William Ruto’s administration.
Muturi, on Friday, March 28, flagged a viral social media post purporting that he was planning to release crucial information regarding the current administration.
The flagged post claimed that the former Attorney General was plotting a counterattack against the current administration by tabling evil deeds allegedly perpetrated by the head of state since he was elected to office.
“I am now a free man, I will table the evil deals Ruto has been doing in this government. This is the fall of Ruto’s government that has eliminated Kenyans and abducted Kenyans,” read part of the fake post.
While addressing the matter, Muturi refuted the allegations, terming them as a pure fabrication by malicious actors whom he claimed attempted to distort facts.
He went ahead to urge Kenyans to rely only on the official communication from his verified social media accounts for accurate information.
“A false quote is being circulated in my name; this is pure fabrication by malicious actors attempting to distort facts,” the former minister commented.
“I urge the public to be vigilant against misinformation and always rely on official communication channels for accurate information. Let us not fall for diversionary tactics; truth always prevails,” he added.
Muturi’s clarification comes hardly two days after Ruto sacked him from his cabinet position and nominated Mbeere North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Ruku as his replacement.
Addressing the press recently, the former CS dismissed speculations of resigning from the government, maintaining that he was focused on delivering for Kenyans and ensuring accountability within the government.
Muturi's dismissal followed days after the head of state criticised him over what Ruto termed incompetence by the former Attorney General.
Speaking on Tuesday, March 25, during an Iftar session with the Muslim community at State House in Nairobi, Ruto said Muturi was untrainedin handling legal matters.
Ruto accused Muturi of allegedly delaying the establishment of Waqf, a charitable endowment where Muslims dedicate properties for religious and public benefit.
“As we move forward, we will continue to look at the issues that have been raised here, issues of education, and find a nexus between religious and formal education to determine what needs to be done,” Ruto said.
“On Waqf, I agree with you; it has taken too long. There is no reason for the delay, and I had a problem with the AG who was there. He was fairly incompetent, but now I have a very competent lady, and I can assure you the issues of Waqf will be sorted out,” he added.
