Friday night saw several leaders in the country drawn from different sectors of governance, including the Senate, National Assembly, the Cabinet, and the county, among others, receiving awards for their splendid performances.
The awards organised by the Politrack Africa Star Leaders Awards saw several front-line leaders receiving awards.
Among the leaders who were awarded include Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, who was awarded as the Best MP, scooping the number one position among all other MPs.
Mavoko Constituency MP Patrick Makau came in third position, followed by Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwour, commonly referred to as Jalang'o, at number four in Nairobi and 17th in the country.
While Jalang'o revealed he was elated for the award, he expressed his need to do better and scoop a higher ranking next time.
"Last night at the 2025 Politrack Star Leaders Gala night, we got recognised among the best working Members of Parliament, number four in Nairobi and 17 in the country—not where we want to be but a foot in the right direction. Pole pole tutafika," Jalango'o wrote in a tweet.
The newly appointed Public Service CS, Geofrey Ruku, was also fated as the fourth-best MP during his tenure as a Member of Parliament.
Adan Keynan (Eldas ), Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri), and Stephen Mule (Matungulu) were also awarded.
Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu led the pack of governors as the best governor overall, followed by Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) at the second position and Ahmed Abdullahi Mohamed (Wajir) and Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga), who tied at the third position.
Amos Nyaribo (Nyamira), Jonathan Bii (Uasin Gishu), and Mohamed Adan Khalif (Mandera), among others, also received awards.
Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda received the award for the best Senator, he was followed by Eddie Oketch (Migori) and Richard Onyonka (Kisii). Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna came in fifth.
Although it did not win the best governor or senator position, Nairobi County was able to win the best chief officer after Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria's award.
Just days after being reassigned to the Education Principal Secretary position, Julius Bitok scooped the award for the best PS during his tenure at Immigration and Citizen Services. PS Alex Wachira came in second, followed by Mary Muthoni.
Mining CS Ali Hassan Joho came in fifth but managed to scoop position five, while Lands CS Alice Wahome came in fourth.
Eric Mugaa (Water) came in third, followed by Rebecca Miano (Tourism) at position two as Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi went home with the best CS award.
The Politrack Africa Star Leaders Awards recognise outstanding leadership and performance across various sectors in Kenya. The awards celebrate achievements in governance, public service, and other areas of leadership.
