Chemundu Ward MCA Julius Keter Dies After Short Illness

Chemundu Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Julius Kipruto Keter is dead.

The MCA was known for his strong grassroots connection, often championing development projects in education, health, and infrastructure.

He was serving his first term and had quickly gained popularity across Nandi County for his commitment to community empowerment.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang mourned the death of Chemundu MCA Julius Kipruto Keter describing him as a dedicated leader and a true servant of the people.

“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I have received the news of the untimely passing of Hon. Julius Kipruto, Member of County Assembly for Chemundu/Kapng'etuny Ward and our Majority Whip,” Governor Sang said.

The Governor not only remembered Keter as more than just a colleague, but also a friend and a humble leader who was deeply committed to improving the lives of his people.

“Hon. Kipruto was not just a colleague, but a friend and a true servant of the people. His unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of his constituents, his humility, and his calm, thoughtful leadership will be deeply missed. He stood firm in advocating for development and was a strong voice in the County Assembly of Nandi,” he added.

In his message, Governor Sang also offered his condolences to the family of the late MCA, fellow county leaders, and the people of Chemundu/Kapng’etuny Ward.

Leaders and residents across the region have expressed shock and sadness, describing Keter as a humble and visionary leader whose contributions will be greatly missed.

This comes weeks after MCA for Purko Ward, Kajiado, Simon Mumeita Saitoti, passed away at the age of 42 while undergoing treatment on March 7.

Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku confirmed that Saitoti was admitted on February 26 and was scheduled for surgery, but remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) until he passed away.

“I have received in utter shock the sudden demise of Purko Ward MCA, Hon. Simon Saitoti, at a Nairobi hospital where he was undergoing treatment after a short illness,” Ole Lenku confirmed.
